OPAL’s rental housing is affordable for low- and moderate-income Orcas households and conveniently located in Eastsound. OPAL has a total of 75 rentals at four properties. Click the button for more information about and the application process for each of OPAL’s rental properties.
The Island Loan Fund provides real estate loans and technical assistance to Orcas Islanders who need a mortgage loan and are creditworthy, but are not yet eligible for a bank loan. The fund is capitalized by individuals who want to invest locally in order to help the island community retain its economic diversity. In recent years about 15% of Orcas Island’s 3,100 households have contributed to help OPAL implement programs to provide permanently affordable housing. Members are the heart and soul of our organization. Additional support comes from volunteers who give generously of their time and contribute amazing talents to OPAL.
