Scattered Sites: 6 homes on separate lots in Eastsound, Olga and Obstruction Pass

In 2001 OPAL acquired and renovated two existing single-family homes—one in Olga and one in Eastsound. A third Eastsound house joined the program in 2002.

Then, in 2004, a supporter donated a vacant lot on Madrona Street in Eastsound where OPAL constructed two new homes, based on designs created by Ross Chapin, an architect from Whidbey Island.

In 2008 a supporter sold to OPAL a 10-year old home at a bargain price. OPAL made modest repairs to the home and sold it to a qualified moderate-income purchaser with a 99-year leasehold interest in the land.
